Kris is an impassioned advocate, educator and yogi with a range of eclectic experience in areas spanning from prevention, to advocacy to crisis intervention and yoga. Her yoga journey began after college when she moved to San Francisco and began exploring a breadth of contemplative practices including meditation and the art of building labyrinths. Upon moving to Minnesota she started practicing asana (movement) and experienced a whole new level of embodiment.
Kris currently is the Director of Health and Wellbeing at University of Minnesota Rochester where she incorporates yoga, meditation and contemplative practices into the University experience. Kris is 200 hour certified in Dharma Yoga and certified in Trauma Informed Yoga and has been teaching for 11 years. She has a certification in Ayurvedic studies, and is also a certified Reiki Master. She has earned a B.S in Psychology and an M.S with a Counseling specialization. She has studied primarily Dharma Yoga, ParaYoga, Jivimukti, Kundalini and Ashthanga and weaves all aspects of these training into her teaching and personal practice.
